Teenagers who are bad tempered at school may be short of sleep, say researchers.

Some are getting as little as four hours sleep a night because they're watching TV, surfing the internet or playing on games consoles in their rooms.

Charity Sleep Scotland says that teenagers should aim for nine hours a night and that getting more rest can improve academic performance.

A change of catchment areas has meant that 24 children in one Berkshire village have not been given secondary school places for September.

Some parents have been turned down for all three of their preferred school choices after more parents in South Buckinghamshire applied for places in Cookham.

Some parents are planning to appeal while others are considering schools further afield or calling for extra classrooms to be added to the most popular schools.

Schools in Australia have called police in to investigate serious cases of cyber bullying on the internet.

A number of schools have asked parents to monitor their teenagers' behaviour on social networking websites like Facebook and Bebo after an increasing number of complaints.

Counsellors at some schools are having to start their week sorting out issues after pupils have received abuse on the internet and by text message over the weekend.
