Who are Percy the Pigeon and his friend Matty-boy?

Percy the pigeon and Matty-boy are characters from the children’s novel -

Matty-boy & The Secret Pigeon Racket.

The book is aimed at 8-12 year olds, but is also enjoyed by adults.

Anita Hunt, the author of the book, wanted the story to be a part of a wider campaign to spread Percy’s message; a pigeon that helps his friend Matt to tell a safe adult that he is being bullied, so that he may be able to receive the help that he needs.

Percy’s message is – ‘If you are being bullied, please tell someone.’

Anita wanted to support and help promote the work of Bullying UK, so a donation of 50p from every book sale and gift pack will be donated to us. The book is available through www.areyouebeingbullied.com for £8.99 plus p&p, as well as other gifts such as a card, key-ring, and bookmark as a part of the Matty-boy Gift Pack, as well as a tote-bag and a Percy badge that will be available soon. Their hope is that the book and further information that is available through their website will be useful to not only children and parents but also schools and youth clubs, as a part of their work discussing the issues surrounding bullying.
