![]() I wrote the poem for someone close to me who I knew was getting bullied.
He couldnt see a way out of it, getting abused both verbally and physically became an everyday occurence for him inside and outside of school and he was fast forgetting what life was like before.
It was and still is frustrating to realise that nothing I could do would ever end the torment he was facing day in, day out. By writing this poem I hoped to help him realise that no matter how alone he felt we were all with him and that the light at the end of the tunnel would still be shining no matter how many obstacles stood in the way.
You are the fire
You are the fire
blog comments powered by DisqusThat surrounds me Takes my oxygen away You are my life The priority Not in the best way I wish things could be different I just wish things could change To me this hurts a lot That to others this may seem strange They look at me like I don’t belong They judge and they dissect I feel like I'm always wrong A mistake they'd like to correct You are the sign Around my neck Strips my dignity of me I'm confused You are the reason For my lack of identity I'm on the run again I know, I'm running from someone I don't Like lighted fuel I want to escape But the fire knows I won't I hereby take my stand Again doing what I'm told Desperately looking on Trying to look bold You are the flag In my hand That surrenders me to you You are well known This was all planned I don't know why I never knew... |
